KHSB is a South Dakota based 501(c)3 non profit organization made up of volunteers who have been hard at work keeping Hot Springs beautiful since 2006.

Our mission is to stimulate community pride and increase individual responsibility in beautification and litter reduction through environmental education and programs.

Our Impact

In 2024 alone, KHSB volunteers:

  • Planted 17 new trees in town.

  • Installed initial plantings in 18 bump-outs throughout town. Which featured over 1,000 new plants and over 90 volunteers working over 1,150 hours on the post road construction replanting project.

  • Removed over 54 trash bags worth of debris out of Fall River, HS Parks, along roadways and ditches throughout town.

  • Recycled over 4,000 pounds of aluminum cans through our Can Trailer program at Bomgaars.

  • Added 31 new members + had over 60 non-planting volunteers work on cleanup programs throughout the year.

  • Hung Christmas lights on 14 trees, 2 bridges and 2 picnic shelters in Centennial Park.

Thanks to our amazing volunteers, KHSB was the recipient of the Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce’s 2024 Community Pride Award!
