Recycling Trailer

Drop off your aluminum cans in our trailer at Bomgaars. These donated cans are turned in to Ace or Pacific Recyling in Rapid City and the funds help support KHSB programs. Please place cans in plastic bag and tie shut. No cardboard. Keep Hot Springs Beautiful is currently in need of volunteer drivers to take the trailer to Rapid City every month and empty its contents. If you are interested in helping, please reach out.

Super Recycling Events

A great way to get rid of old metal, appliances and other items that can be recycled and reused instead of ending up in local landfills.

SR Events are on pause for 2024 due to lack of participation. If you wish to see this program return in 2025, please let us know.

City Recycling

In addition to our other recycling efforts, Keep Hot Springs Beautiful is thrilled that the City of Hot Springs now offers curbside recycling. KHSB encourages residents within city limits to sign up for recycling at City Hall. Regular garbage pickup is $13.10 per month and it’s just an additional $4.55 for a second recycling bin. Participants are provided with a 96-gallon recycling bin that is emptied once a month (the last Wednesday of the month).

Items that can be placed in your City of Hot Springs bin include:

Aluminum: Beverage Cans, Food Cans, Aluminum Bottles, Hairspray Cans, Shaving Cream Cans (No tin foil)

Steel: Vegetable Cans, Soup & Food Cans, Coffee Cans, Empty Paint Cans, Empty Aerosol Cans

Glass: Food/Beverage Bottles, Jars (please remove labels)

Plastics: (Items with Recycle Triangles #1,2,5 or 7). Milk Jugs, Detergent Jugs, Soda Bottles, Hair Care Bottles, Food Containers, Drained Oil Containers

No Styrofoam or Cardboard. Pleas rinse all items before placing them in the can.

Stop by City Hall for more information or call 605-745-3135 to sign up.
